Here's a site where I really wanted to sharpen my skills as a PHP "programmer" (I use quotations because I can't really claim the title). I've recently gotten back into making my own beer at home thanks to a kegerator kit my wife gave me for Christmas. I was poking around on the internet, trying in vain to find a simple, browser-based system to help me organize and store the logs I take while making a batch of beer. Nothing was out there. So, I made one myself. Initially, the vision was to have this solely for my own personal use. But then I got to thinking. Why not make it available for download for anyone to use? Brewblogger was born. Making a software package available for easy install and use is not as simple as it sounds, especially if you wanted to give non-technical users the opportunity to use it. This one streched my PHP abilities. It is, by far, the most extensive custom programming I have done. I'm actually getting the concepts now!
